The Quotes of The Day

Perhaps it is time to teach your young black men to 1) Stop joining a life of crime 2) Listen to the police when they give you a command. The typical Leftist soft bigotry of low expectations.

The jury has now gotten the case of former Minneapolis Police officer Derek Chauvin in the death of George Floyd. And so begins the jury’s sequestration in a city that is the site of riots, looting, and nearly non-stop protesting – especially since the death of another man in a nearby suburb at the hands of police.

You think that I'm blowing the "Blue Cities" comment out of proportion? The governor of Illinois and the mayor of Murderville errr I mean Chicago are concerned.

At Mayor Lori Lightfoot’s request, Gov. J.B. Pritzker is deploying 125 Illinois National Guard troops to Chicago on Tuesday in anticipation of a verdict in the trial of the former Minneapolis police officer charged with killing George Floyd last summer.

The Guard members will perform a "limited mission” that includes helping Chicago police manage street closures, according to the governor’s office.

Depending on your belief system, creation vs. evolution, mankind has been around a long time. Yet people who are alive today think they are the first who have ever faced certain issues. One of those issues, exhibiting self love as important as romantic love, sologamist Sophie Tanner tells us how it is done.

When I married myself five years ago, it was to celebrate self love – to stop chasing the ‘happily ever after’ and start living the ‘happily ever now’. Since then, I’ve no longer felt the need to apologise for my single status and have found being a sologamist very empowering. I really enjoy my own company and find peace in solitude. So, last year, when the Coronavirus struck, I thought I’d cope with a solo lockdown ok, after all, I’m no stranger to filling my own cup!

However, it didn’t take long before I found myself plunging into despair. The months of isolation stretching ahead of me felt insurmountable and I started to question whether or not I could actually live with myself for so long. This past year, like so many other people, I’ve had to dig deeper into my reserves of self love than ever, and the experience has been humbling. It’s reminded me just how much self love is a journey, not a destination.

The pandemic has forced more people to spend time with themselves, reshaping and broadening the way we address our own mental and physical wellbeing. I think it’s really important that we hang onto the lessons we’ve learned and use these coping tools to deal with any lingering after-effects. After all, self love is for life, not just the pandemic!

Liz Cheney Was A Primary Culprit Of Spreading Fake News On Russian Bounties To Undermine Trump

As the story of Russian bounties on U.S. troops gained traction in the press, Liz Cheney seized the opportunity to undermine her own party.

U.S. intelligence agencies debunked on Thursday what was treated as blockbuster election-year reporting last summer of an anonymously sourced story in The New York Times claiming the Kremlin placed bounties on American troops in Afghanistan.

President Donald Trump, went the tale, deliberately downplayed the aggression to appease Russia and accelerate the timeline to withdraw U.S. forces. Wyoming Rep. Liz Cheney, currently number three in House leadership, was a primary purveyor of the fake news.

Hate and bitch can be harsh words, but I really despise this POS.

Once again the SCOTUS punts on a Second Amendment issue. SCOTUS declines to hear a case involving a felon wishing to purchase a fire arm.

The Supreme Court on Monday declined to hear a case deciding if a lifetime ban on felons owning guns violates the Second Amendment.

The court turned the case away in an unsigned order. It concerned the appeal of Ken Flick, a Georgia man who was convicted of a felony in 1987 for counterfeiting and importing cassette tapes. Under federal law, Flick is not allowed to own any firearms, a ban he disputed earlier this year before the court.

"While legislatures have wide latitude to define crimes and classify them as felonies, they are not free to cast people out from the Constitution's protection," lawyers for Flick told the Supreme Court in their petition, arguing that the federal government cannot deprive people of their Second Amendment rights.

It's safe to say, Morrissey didn't get or appreciate the joke.

"Poking fun at subjects is one thing," the musician's post reads. "Other shows like SNL still do a great job at finding ways to inspire great satire. But when a show stoops so low to use harshly hateful tactics like showing the Morrissey character with his belly hanging out of his shirt (when he has never looked like that at any point in his career) makes you wonder who the real hurtful, racist group is here. Even worse – calling the Morrissey character out for being a racist, without pointing out any specific instances, offers nothing. It only serves to insult the artist. They should take that mirror and hold it up to themselves."

It's not everyday you see this type of vehicle on the road. Wonder if someone has had one too many DUIs?

Doing a big load of shopping may be a little difficult for this woman who popped to the shops in a child's pink Jeep.

A driver captured the moment the woman returns to the children's electric ride-on toy car in a Kwik Star parking lot in Shell Rock, Iowa.

She places her items in the trunk compartment of the toy Jeep Wrangler, hops in and drives off down the road in the comical clip.

Is there a fence who deals in used sex toys? I'm not sure, we will have to ask tonight's Genius Award Winner.

Who burglarizes a home and steals the resident’s used sex toys?

That distinction, Pennsylvania cops say, goes to Michael Holden, 37, who is facing multiple charges in connection with a break-in last Tuesday in Tyrone, a borough 90 miles east of Pittsburgh.

Investigators allege that Holden, seen at right, entered the 35-year-old victim’s home after she had fallen asleep on her couch. Holden, cops charge, stole $700 in cash, various bank cards, and the woman’s sex toys, which were valued at $160, according to a probable cause affidavit.

Is your job worth your life? Tonight's Feel Good Story of The Day.

A suspected poacher was killed by a herd of breeding elephants that he encountered while fleeing from park rangers, according to South African officials.

Three people attempted to run away after they were spotted by rangers at the Kruger National Park, one of Africa's largest game reserves, on Saturday, South African National Parks officials said.

Morrissey, in case you didn't bother reading the link, is one of the good guys, if you are a conservative.  He supports border controls and limiting immigration to the law-abiding, non-jihadi sector of the population.
But hey, it's a free blog.  Right?  Free to one and all.

100    I was reading more on the Mars helicopter test flight today. The little chopper behaved and performed exactly as it was supposed to. They are planning another flight in a few days, which will go a little higher and move around laterally.  Each test flight will be a little more ambitious than the previous one.
The thing has a design life of 31 days. If it lasts beyond that, they say they're "gonna have a little fun" with it, and maybe push the envelope with it.
NASA has named the site around the helicopter, "Wright Brothers Field" and it is official. The United States now has an official airfield on Mars.

It's a bloody distraction meant to stir hate and fear.  The media pushes that shit out constantly by lies of omission and it deepens the divide. It leads us to assume things that we cannot independently verify mostly.  I'm not pointing fingers or making accusations that's the Left's deal.  Find your friends, brothers and sisters who will stand together against the bullshit artists and frauds out there. There are many of them in all the colors of the earth. Just as we who claim the proud title of American consist of those same colors.

Thanks for the response, Mis Human, but I was looking for the opposite (links NOT from Twitter/FB).  Every day we see a plethora of links to the Twin Evils.  I can understand if they are posted as the basis for a news article.  However, this blog is equal parts ranting at the Dems/lib media and good-hearted entertainment.  Like the bats and puppies and large-breasted girlfriends baking Diablo or Starcraft cakes (I forget which, sue me).

Like it or not, we are the targets in a cultural war.  They told us to build our own whatever, and when we tried, they colluded to shut us down.  At some point, Google and the Dems will be coming for this blog.  They will label everyone here as Wrongthink and they will cut off Ace's ads.  Then they will come after his co-bloggers, and finally his commenters.

We have to germinate conservative-friendly social media.  Just a post/link here or there from Gab or Parlor, and then maybe another couple and then...

You see where I am coming from?  And there's $50 waiting to hit the tip jar when I see the first one.  Rock and roll.

Windows in Okinawa above the first floor are always barred to a. prevent people from falling out of them (I knew an airman that died from that) and 2. prevent ninjas, because no-self-respecting ninja would go through a first-floor window.

"The Spivey Building is a twelve-story skyscraper located at 417 Missouri Avenue in East St. Louis, Illinois. Built in 1927, the building is the only skyscraper ever constructed in East St. Louis. Architect Albert B. Frankel designed the building in the Commercial style. The building's design features terra cotta spandrels separating its windows vertically and brick pier dividing its window bays. The asymmetrical entrance is surrounded by decorative marble piers, and the first two stories are separated from the rest of the building by a cornice and sill. The top of the building features a two-story parapet with terra cotta surrounds at each window and seven capitals at its peak. During the height of East St. Louis' prosperity through the 1950s, the building housed the offices of professionals in many fields who were considered among the best in the city. However, the building became a victim of the city's steep economic decline and has been abandoned for several decades. The building was added to the National Register of Historic Places on January 17, 2002."

I take great satisfaction in spraying untold quarts of hose-bottle-delivered pesticide here, not only to my lawn, but every shrub, tree and brush.  As well as a through, 100% coverage of the house, it's soffits, porches, decks, UNDER the house and the detached garage.

215    This fascinated me, timekeeping on Mars. Turns out NASA has adopted a notion of local time, defined just as it is on Earth, but referenced to the orbital motion of Mars. A Martian mean solar day can easily be defined, and it's about 2.7% longer than an earth day. They then divide this by 60 for Martian minutes, and even another 60 for Martian seconds. A local planetary day is dubbed a "sol".
All of these are thus 2.7% longer. The landers and rovers and even the little helicopter all sync their internal clocks to this standard. This makes sense because of the daylight cycle. For example, the little helicopter took off about high noon, local Martian time, to maximize the sunlight to the solar panels.
A martian sidereal year is roughly 687 earth days, which translates to and so there is a proposal to define Martian months as roughly 24 per year, rather than 12, but this hasn't yet be standardized.
The Martian sidereal year is about 668.6 sols. For calendar purposes, one needs a tropical year, not a sidereal one, and because of the relatively large eccentricity of Mar's orbit, that makes that a bit more complex, and no convention has yet been agreed on.

239 Anyone stop to think that maybe the Taliban has a good reason for fighting western civilization? Or the Indians fighting for their tribal ways.

Now that years have gone by and we see that what we thought was a good thing to do (make everyone equal and as much equity as possible) but that as we see now leads (maybe) to some things we did not expect that have turned our entire civilization on it's head that perhaps they have the vision to see where it all leads and are fighting against it.

One has to accept that the initial changes or attitudes of western civilization would lead us to where we are now. Was it because of Western Civ? Or was it from outright sabotage? I think the lines may not be as clear as some would like.

Personally, I draw the beginning of the decent of Western Civilization with the incorrect assumption that all are created equal. Sure our Constitution says so but I believe that the meaning should that all have a right to the opportunity to be equal or as equal as possible for that individual. Because trying to make everyone equal cannot happen as long as there are differences between people of ability and talent and intellect. And this is where we have gone astray.

IMO, this woke crap is the result of Soviet sabotage that outlasted the Soviet Union.
Yes, it is China taking advantage now, but the Soviets were thinking long term when they did this.

I often wonder, if peace could have been maintained in Europe in 1914 would the world look like the wonder it seems? No WWI=no Soviet Union and perhaps never any serious moves towards socialism.

And now, pitching the first stone vs. Slick Willie, is Jeeeeesus..uss..uss, of Nazarrrettth..thh..thh!

It's the wind-up, and IT'S THE PITCH!  A close brushback on Slick, that came at him almost as if were thrown from heaven.  Okay, coming up on the Second Coming, and we're in the wind-up, again.  Here it comes, and HOLY MOTHER OF GOD!

That shot wasn't just a brush-back, it was JUDGMENT itself!  Just a smooth wind-up, a flawless delivery, and the last we saw of Clinton at the plate was an expanding cloud of Pink Mist!

Well, that's it for the game, folks.  There's always more innings, but not for ol' Slick.  He seems to have been retired "lakeside" to a place much hotter than here.

Until the next game, this has been Michael the Archangel, filling in for Bob Ueker.  Y'all don't forget to go to church now.  And sit on a pew in the Front Rowwww!

266 46 Weird Dave, who supports Twitter and Facebook by posting and linking them every night (while Ace, JJ Sefton, Mis Human, etc blast them every day, for supporting election fraud, silencing conservatives, banning Trump, etc), decides that his heart pumps piss for Morrissey.
Morrissey, in case you didn't bother reading the link, is one of the good guys, if you are a conservative.  He supports border controls and limiting immigration to the law-abiding, non-jihadi sector of the population.
But hey, it's a free blog.  Right?  Free to one and all.
My offer still stands.  I will donate $50 to Ace's tip jar the next (and probably first) time I see an embedded video or message from Gab, Parlor or any other conservative-friendly site.  Let me know if you see one and I miss it.  I don't come here as often as I used to.

Actually, Weird Dave was at one point looking at linking Gabs offerings. The reason he didn't pursue it further was because Gab (at least at the time) did not provide an option to embed their stuff. Don't know if that is still the case.

And, if you check out Ace's daily Quarantine Cafe posts, they are chock-full of Tweets and Youtube embeds. Most, if not all the bloggers here link to Twitter and Youtube/Google. Don't see much Facebook stuff, but they do show up on occasion on the Pet Thread.

Don't think you are going to convince management to stop linking to those sites, so if you are looking for a boycott, I think you are out of luck.

267 Equality is an abstract. It works in the world of Mathematics, or formalized abstracts. It can be a relationship in the abstract world where the only features are the ones that are definitional to the concept.
Empirically, "equality" does not exhibit itself. We can find two people whose height rounds to the same number of inches. But the finer we make the measurement the more rare "equal height" is, even for something that measurable.
We have called God's estimation of us "equal", because God is the epitome of fair and "equal" is word that probably best approximates it. "Equality under law" (that is a lack of differential treatment) is the human realm concept of God's lack of preference.
But just as "rights" are a crude approximation of the depth of God's love, legal equality is a crude approximation of God's disinterest.
Trying to make what was modeled after God's Will into a "wholly secular" endeavor, is the same distance as The Law to a personal relationship with God and will end ultimately in Man's will, specifically the will of the winning faction.

On top of all that, after Morrissey appeared, sang and was interviewed by Johnny, about two-thirds of the audience (who were the young people that came to see him) just *up and left,* and didn't stay for the remainder of the taping. Carson mentioned it on tape and was obviously pissed about it.

Your Spotter.

A worthy idea, but lets first, shall we, actually calculate and mention that precise point on the glove?  Who knows?  Maybe a ship shan't be required, when great convoys of chartered airliners and busses would better serve?

I think about 2,000 at a time, would provide "specific gravity" for the event, and pack enough of 'em into a concentrated area to make the presented "geocoordinates" provable and believeable to them all.

Larger groups could adjust their azimuth by 0.001 degrees or so at the outlying fringes, and thus claim exemption from the "heresy".

*calculates figures*.  Yep, 2,000, tightly grouped.  Don't know what'll get 'em first.  A good FAE airburst, or their own infighting?

Yup. Not only that, but as far as I can tell, Gab still doesn't provide the tools to embed their Gab-tweets (or whatever they call them). So even if someone wants to make the effort to support them instead of Twitter and finds something they want to share from that platform, they can only quote and link, no embed.

In other news, Parler is back in the Apple store. They have modified their terms of service to placate Apple, so it sounds like they will be an alternative to Twitter in name only.

The where to face when praying became a BFD indeed, and the Malaysian space agency (I can't say that without laughing) had to convene a council of 150 Islamo-nuts to address the question.
The problem is the "sacred direction" at some points in the ISS orbit can shift 180 degrees in the course of the length of a typical prayer. So it's changing rapidly as you pray.
Their resolution was basically, try to determine the correct direction, and you can use whatever method is most convenient, and if that's not too practical, pray wherever.

Might I introduce you, sir, to the Zone System of Black &White exposure measurements, as perfected by one Ansel Adams?

Do keep in mind though, that one must also have a perfect knowledge and command of, the nature of the negative emulsion, the chemicals intended for it's development, as well as the targeted print-paper's contrast grade, processing chemicals and other darkroom techniques intended to bring to bear on the image.

But a perfect Zone System print is Diversity itself.  It IS!  Totally saturated blacks, ranging to brilliant, unshaded whites.

Oh, I see the problem, now.

Yep, that is insane. Monetary policy is in Cloud Cuckoo Land. Those ridiculous increases in deposits are coming from the Fed's money printing (what they did the last year in response to the Covid lockdowns is staggering -- for more than they did in respone to the '08 crash).
These people are insane. They have no idea what the fuck they're doing, and what the effects are going to be.

The second one with the flat line in loan growth was amazing. 2.45 trillion in surplus deposits, and no one seems to have any good idea what will happen if/when banks start lending that.  It’s like the financial sector is completely divorced from the real sector, happily breathing their own farts...

357    I watched a little clip of that MMT idiot claiming that "loans create deposits". He's an idiot. MMT is utter nonsense.
But beyond that, this whole topic illustrates how many people, hell most, including the supposed experts have no idea how the banking system works. The question do "deposits create loans" or do "loans create deposits" is a stupid one.  The answer is yes.
You've got to realize that deposits are debits, liabilities of a bank. It's assets are actual money (cash and electronic reserves) plus loans and securities.
Deposits are not money, although they can act like it. They are claim on the bank for real money.
Now, real money is created by the central bank (in modern fiat systems).
It is actually simple as pie. But it just blows people's minds.

365 Well, survived the back surgery today. A triple spinal fusion turn what was supposed to be a 3-hour surgery into a four-hour surgery. Doc said there were a lot of nerves that had to be unpinched, cleaned out a load of crap in my spine. And didn't have to do the bone graft, I'm guessing they used the bone spurs for material instead of having to steal some, they say that makes it less painful with no bone graft.
I'm feeling pretty good considering they sliced me open and rootedq around for 4 hours. Oh my various aches and pains are gone 12thand replaced with just occasional incision pain. That is kept tamped down by Norco right now. I'll take that trade-off.
Thanks for all the prayers and well-wishes here, that really helps when you're facing something like this. You guys are the best Morons, you rock.

368   And this illustrates how security exploits and bugs are found. Programmers write something. They make assumptions about input (being of a certain form, in a certain range, of a maximum length, etc, etc).
They don't (and nobody could) imagine all the possibilities of what input outside of those assumptions will do.
Rather than tracking all that down, and doing the easiest thing to do is just shut it down and force input into a very well controlled box. We can't have nice things, IOW.
