It's everywhere. The slaughter of the English language on the altar of political correctness and "inclusiveness" serves a darker purpose: the compression of acceptable thought into narrow pathways through normal discourse.
No longer can we call the 6'3" 250 pound team handball player a man pretending to be a woman. No, we must call him a woman, or even more ridiculously a "trans-woman." What is that? Either we accept the insanity of a snap of the fingers and Poof! He is a she, or we don't. Why the weasel words, if not to force ever more tortured language upon us and to elevate a psychiatric disorder to celebratory heights?
We have prodded and snipped and trimmed the noble goals and laudable results of our founders' political philosophy in the same way. We have devolved from the simple and glorious idea that equality of opportunity is all society needs, to the shorter and more opaque "equality," to the even shorter and dangerously unequal "equity." What does "equity" mean in a pluralistic society? Legally mandated financial equity? Sexual equity? Physical equity?
Are we a few years removed from legal mandates that require everyone to be the same financially, on pain of confiscation? Or perhaps a legal mandate to date all comers, including that oh-so-feminine linebacker above? Or maybe everyone shall, by law, be average height and weight?
As OregonMuse pointed out recently, language is being manipulated for political ends like never before. His example of the simple and obvious word "infrastructure" being twisted and hammered and manipulated to mean "I want to spend money this way, therefore it is infrastructure" is an ominous signal that even the lax standards of our legislature are being destroyed. If funds earmarked for X are used for Y, with the argument that X=Y, then we have arrived at the end game of our republic and its carefully crafted limits (hah!) on spending.
But it is the social language that may do us in.
Peaceful = Rioting.
Man = Woman.
Free Speech = Violence.
I shudder to think what is coming tomorrow!

Fighting back is worth it, but I don't see any winning tactics, except just hanging on and maybe this will all burn out. We are not going to vote our way out of this. My questions are:
1. What's in the bags. Little stickers saying "We love you Asian people" even though we might not know you by name and anything about you.
2. Do people need these bags? Chinese Americans and Korean Americans and Japanese Americans during liberal college central are mostly from well off families with parents who are Dr.s of various sorts, engineers. computer people, people in the pharmaceutical industry,Drs of various sorts . Their kids in college are well off. They probably didn't work on the Transcontinental railroad (insert eye roll) and even if some Japanese Americans were incarcerated in camps during WII (which was done by a Democrat administration) I hope they've healed from it now if they're still alive.
3. Would it not be better to advocate for keeping criminals locked up instead of no bail so people are not being beaten up on the street. Maybe it had nothing to do with being Asian?. They were just a target that was nearby?
4. Maybe it would be better for people who actually know the people who were attacked to reach out to them instead of others unffaffected receiving a package simply because they're Asian? .

Even before the increase in the asian and Indian population, I don't recall any colleges declaring that admissions were based solely on GPA and test scores. And schools actively sought a balance of geographic location and a certain level of real world diversity. As private institutions and receivers of huge endowments they have the right to add legacy students as well. They rightfully fear losing their private funding if they base everything on scores, and to be honest, kids can have great numbers and poor verbal communication skills present poorly to interviewers (kid 1 did interviews for alma mater Princeton).
My last name is not particularly Jewish sounding, and when kid 2 got into a great school, I was told kid was unfairly standing in the way of a better "Jewish or Asian" student. Kid got into a program based on a portfolio that had a number, not a name, when the judgement was made. Fuck this shit.
