Happy Wednesday.

Silly season is well underway. Clay Aiken announced his candidacy for a congressional seat in North Carolina. Sandra Fluke did the same for the seat Rep. Waxman is vacating in California.

Sen. Cruz is starting to play nice with his Senate colleagues. "

Lots of great Ask the Blog questions for the podcast crew came in yesterday. Good job, ya'll.

TodayÂ’s picture is, I believe, of the Dolly Sisters:

http://tinyurl.com/qdbjhpt

The sisters, Rose (Rosika) and Jenny (Jansci) were born in Hungary in 1892.  Their vaudeville specialty was a tandem dance act.  But they were also known for being successful gamblers as well as living embodiments of the melodramatic, high-living Ziegfeld girl.  Around 1918, they became lovers of Harry Selfridge, the Wisconsin boy who became an English department store tycoon.  In his book Notes From A Small Island, the writer Bill Bryson notes that, while Selfridge died in poverty, “he had had the inestimable pleasure of boinking twin sisters, which is the main thing.”

35 Well, I get to sit here all day wondering if this ice and snow laden tree will finally fall over today or tomorrow or whenever. The rest of the week doesn't look too good.

Some idiot put these trees along the edge of an embankment which means they started to lean over the slope and they don't seem to fare too well with heavy sticky snow.

They also have really long lower branches that the snow can really load up.

Whee. It's like watching a Faro wheel. Wondering if my number will come up or not.

Those flouroquinone antibiotics can be killers.

I have troubles with the constant switch to different manufacturers of the generics I buy.

Contrary to what they may say, THEY ARE NOT THE SAME.

In fact we know they're not the same as Big Pharma hasn't sued them. Which they would if they used identical ingredients.

Something that they mix in with certain drugs just sets me off and I wind up worse than I am without.

It took me 2 years to get the Drs to take me off this one med that I knew was screwing me up. Told me it wasn't possible that I could be affected like that. Took me off and a whole bunch of problems WENT AWAY!!!11!!!!

Strange thing about that. (I still snark at them now and then about it. They just shrug and ignore me.)

91 I think what the Republicans in the House should do is change one simple law they passed on themselves.

In 2016 add 50 seats to the House.  Market it as 'making the House more representative of the people.  For the children' and all that.

Sure it adds more parasites but it means there are more parasites that need to be herded for a vote.  And might just weaken 'safe' Democrat districts.

Dolly photo, nostalgic tapestry of 18th Century military "hunt" in woods, and the girls in gowns reminiscing Antebellum skirts, popular themes of "innocence lost" after WWI. Dolly Sisters vs. Gabor Sisters twins or not, George Sanders married two of the Gabors, Zsa Zsa and then the eldest Magda (her 5th of 6 spouses) The Gabor Sisters took the serial matrimony cake and ate it, too. ZsaZsa 8; Eva 5. In contrast, Marilyn Monroe only married 3 times; but then, her life was cut short. The Austro-Hungarian Deutsch "Dolly Sisters" ended life attempting suicide; one successfully (1941). The gambler unsuccessfully, living to old age to die of heart failure.

118 I think what the Republicans in the House should do is change one simple law they passed on themselves.
In 2016 add 50 seats to the House. Market it as 'making the House more representative of the people. For the children' and all that.
Sure it adds more parasites but it means there are more parasites that need to be herded for a vote. And might just weaken 'safe' Democrat districts.

140 Today's great hymn of faith, "Revive us Again" The words: http://library.timelesstruths.org/music/Revive_Us_Again/ The powerful story behind the hymn: William Paton MacKay (1839-1885) was the author of the song, Revive Us Again. His godly mother shared the gospel with him and prayed for him often, but he was unimpressed. He lived his own life, and studied to be a doctor in Scotland. One day a seriously injured man came to the hospital. His case seemed hopeless. Conscious, he asked the doctor how much time he had left to live. The doctor responded cautiously, then asked if there was any relatives who should be notified. No relatives, the patient said, but he did request that his landlady send him "The Book." The doctor visited the man daily and was impressed by the quiet, happy expression on his face. After the man died, there were some details that had to be tended to in the presence of the doctor. Here is the rest of the story as told in the doctor's own words*: “What shall we do with this?” the nurse asked holding a book in her hand. “What kind of book is it?” I asked. “The Bible of the poor man…As long as he was able to read it, he did so, and when he was unable to do so anymore, he kept it under his bed cover.” I took the Bible and-could I trust my eyes? It was my own Bible! The Bible which my mother had given me when I left my parent’s home, and which later, when short of money, I sold for a small amount. My name was still in it, written in my mother’s hand… With a deep sense of shame I looked upon the precious Book. It had given comfort and refreshing to the unfortunate man in his last hours. It had been a guide to him into eternal life, so that he had been enabled to die in peace and happiness. And this book, the last gift to me from my mother, I had actually sold for a ridiculous price… Be it sufficient to say that the regained possession of my Bible was the cause of my conversion. MacKay became a minister in the Presbyterian church. ^^ From the website "Three Minutes to Nine.blogspot.com" A wonderful modern rendition. 154 And before the power goes out: News in support of religious liberty The Becket Fund for religious Liberty this year will be giving the Canterbury Award for Religious Liberty to Rabbi Lord Jonathan Sacks, Emeritus Chief Rabbi of the United Hebrew Congregations of the Commonwealth. The Medal will be presented by Professor Robert P. George, McCormick Professor of Jurisprudence at Princeton University. Our Dinner Chair is Leonard A. Leo, of the Federalist Society and former USCIRF Chairman. Rabbi Sacks has been a leader in the defense of religious liberty in his speaking and writing both in Britain and around the world. He has a clear understanding that the defense of religious freedom occurs in the courts, but also in digital and print media. As Rabbi Sacks very aptly said during his recent lecture on the nature of freedom at Yeshiva University: “The world is very different now. For man holds in his mortal hands the power to abolish all forms of human poverty and all forms of human life. And yet the same revolutionary beliefs for which our forebears fought are still at issue around the globe—the belief that the rights of man come not from the generosity of the state, but from the hand of God.” Rabbi Sacks' most interesting website: http://www.rabbisacks.org

United Auto Workers (UAW) members spent the afternoon pacing the assembly line at the Chattanooga Volkswagen plant wearing goggles and black “UAW” T-shirts in what is perceived to be a case of union intimidation. The assembly plant’s 1,600 workers are set to vote next week on whether or not to join the UAW. The election is already shaping up to be a divisive battle. “It’s unclear to me how many of them are actual employees of Volkswagen. I suspect it’s a mix of both,” Center for Worker Freedom executive director Matt Patterson told The Daily Caller, citing multiple on-site sources who observed the scene. “They were all given goggles [to gain entry] and black shirts with big UAW logos on them, so there’s no mistake what’s going on here.” http://tinyurl.com/ldtd6l5 http://dailycaller.com/

183 Random intel speculation: Keep an eye on Kerry--he's recently upped his profile recently. He may be thinking of running again, and it wouldn't be foolhardy. He'll be in the same age bracket as Clinton, without the Benghazi (and other detritus), is younger and less gaffe-prone than Biden, right now is easily more able to be seen as statesmanlike than either, was an early endorser of Obama (and allows Barry to put another shiv in the Clinton crowd, which is something I think he wants to make happen), and allows Democrats to get further emotional revenge for the Bush years--sort of a revote on 2004 (when Kerry got a lot of votes, with the population having changed some since then, in Kerry's favor, as the last of the WWII generation died). I think he could perhaps win the nomination from a Biden or Clinton--and if I can draw that conclusion, others can too.

To be perfectly clear, umm, the American people are too stupid need these overwhelmingly popular government programs to manage their health care, provide food stamps, unemployment as they have more and more free time, and it is only logical that they also need a financial management program without any of those service fees associated with private investment advisers.

My cronies on K Street bi-partisan members of Congress have been drafting the Affordable Investment Opportunity Act for some time using the model of having US Treasury Bonds as the basis for all private investments.  This guarantees the full faith and credit of the United States itself will be employed on behalf of all citizens so all you serfs citizens can fell secure in your retirement futures.

But to actually look at it through that scope of how education plays such a huge part in our directive, and where we go in our life, and the support in our life, and how that brings parents and teachers together, and how that allows young people to have opportunity through a whole other different level is an underlying theme of this piece, even though I didnÂ’t recognize it off the bat," Keys told us in a separate phone call yesterday from New York City.

225 http://tinyurl.com/qjesn5p A 19-year-old Oregon woman who drove an SUV into a leaf pile, accidentally killing two young girls playing in it, has been taken into federal custody and may face deportation. U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement said on Monday that Cinthya Garcia-Cisneros is being placed in removal proceedings and will be held at a detention center in Tacoma while she awaits a bond hearing before an immigration judge. "The immigration judge will determine whether or not Ms. Garcia-Cisneros remains in detention for the duration of her immigration case," ICE spokesman Andrew Munoz said in a statement. Garcia-Cisneros was sentenced to three years of probation and 250 hours of community service on Friday. A jury found the woman guilty of two counts of felony hit-and-run earlier this month. Prosecutors said the crash on Oct. 20 in Forest Grove, 25 miles west of Portland, was an accident. But they say the teen failed to come forward after learning she might have struck the children in the leaf pile, which was on the street. Police found her the following day. Authorities said the two girls — later identified as stepsisters, 6-year-old Anna Dieter-Eckerdt and 11-year-old Abigail Robinson — were likely concealed by the leaves and not visible to Garcia-Cisneros. Anna died at the scene. Abigail died later at a Portland hospital. Minutes after Garcia-Cisneros drove through the leaves on her way home, her brother returned to the scene and saw a man standing over the pile, screaming. The man spoke to him briefly. The boy went home and told his sister she may have hit two children. I wouldn't be responsible for my actions if those were my daughters. And you don't drive into a leaf pile and hit something and not know about it unless your shit faced on something.

234 102. Rigged? As if his microphone was mute; or he was not allowed a moment for response? Or, serving two masters, he just couldn't manage to establish whatever his points were. Because our platform was never his conviction because of bipartisan uniparty shared values -- and we're all winners -- or tripe and sour grapes. This booky bookie presumed the credentials to survey and establish the Road Map for America, touting his name as if a Republican Young Gun. What a joke. So look again, not at him, but at one's own mindset, to have been so gullible, and our support/compliance so easily taken for a serfdom ride under the bus. Skin off OUR backs, skin off OUR nose. Don't give them your ear any more. Don't cry over spilt milk. Just be sure to rescind bastards who toppled Constitutional Governance with authoritarianism. Alternative candidates are MUCH easier to oust after failure in office than a candidate from either major party who wins office, then proving utter complicity in Washingtonia. So long as the platform planks are to honor constitutional governance, don't give up on constitutional liberty and justice, our birth rights no matter. Demand ACCOUNTABILITY. We are. Responsibility is not merely a "word, just a word" unless we let it be revised by politicians who refuse to be held accountable for their criminal enterprises too big to fail, beyond tipping point. "I accept full responsibility." PROSECUTE the executors and prosecutors for breaking laws. You can't turn on each other and expect the effect to improve your situation. And when noting that the bully MSM and Establishment won't play fair, that's all part of the singular point being CORRUPTION. Hold corruption accountable effectively. Bullies love to hear cry babies whine. Best defense, good offense. Supreme Law of the Land. Don't sabotage constitutional conservatives because you think that you "deserve" a place at the corruption table while the gettin's good. attacca

236 Fluke is a CELEBRITY in the D circles, which counts for more than competence with their voters.

Sandra Fluke doesn't have a snowball chance in hell. Wendy Gruel will be in the race. Why even talk about Fluke? She'll probably drop out before the primary. She's an nonentity. She said she signed up because of the deadline but hasn't definitely committed.

Dem leadership wants a very pliable, very stupid person to fill that seat.  Someone who is willing to be led by the nose and vote as instructed.  Who will do that more reliably?

241 >> 230 And you don't drive into a leaf pile and hit something and not know about it unless your shit faced on something. My brother did a hit and run once. he hit a car and ran since he did not have insurance. (he was a law student at the time and like round heels fluke, claimed he could not afford it.) then he called a friend, and had him go on a run to investigate to see if anyone was hurt (no one was apparently). So, based on my experience, I'm guessing the girl knew immediately that she hit the kids and panicked. she got home and out of fear of the unknown she sent her brother to investigate.

242 I live in the district where Clay Aiken is running. I got a face full of the story this morning as it is the 'big' front page story in the paper, as well as on the local news. They even did a blast on Facebook before 6am this morning. Glad to see our impartial local news is already offering up free advertising to his campaign. It's going to be a long year.

245 Fluke is wired in to commiecrat central. Somebody here mentioned that before going to Georgetown she did her work as an apparatchik in some donk community groups. Plus I think it was in NYC so she was probably one of Slick's cum dumpsters of homely whores with low self esteem. She spoke at the 2012 donk convention, no? I wouldn't use her for anything other than wiping shit off my shoes but to dismiss such a well connected dumbass would be a mistake imo. 246 Here in S. Texas the news reporter makes sure to mention that the driver stopped and wasn't charged,  if he actually stopped. There is a hit and run every few days. Especially late night pedestrian hits.  Reading between the lines a lot don't stop. I tend to stay off the roads at night. . Seen a couple. Used to be if there was an accident you just assumed they stayed.

247 The Cruz story could be Politico BS...and its old news. A couple months ago, Cruz agreed to not raise funds for SCF. This story is designed to get Cruz supporters (like us) to think he's gone establishment...MSM trying to drive the wedge because they know Cruz is the real deal and scares the crap out of the Progs (in both parties), the MSM and SCOAMF himself.
