Posted by: Teresa in Fort Worth, Texas at April 20, 2021 05:27 PM (e6bHS)

36 is anyone honestly surprised?  When a verdict is made based on fear and intimidation of the jurors and their families, then of course they're going to "decide" the way they're told to decide.  There's no upside for bucking the system, and they've been literally threatened with death for them and their families if they don't - of COURSE they go for max guilt.
and now, this country's government is just as loathsome as any of the worst governments in history.  This is a mockery of justice, and we no longer have anything to be proud of, and no reason at all to think we are exceptional.   They have made this country just as bad as they always said it was - I think I am already past mourning its death, I am ready for it to be gone.

_______
Yes.
You can charge for a main offense and lesser-included ones. If you convict on all of them, you've got the "suspenders-and-a-belt" effect in case the court of appeals finds that the evidence was insufficient to sustain one of the charged offenses, or there was some other error that affected only one of the charges.
That will be $500 dollars.

Posted by: Cicero (@cicero43) at April 20, 2021 05:44 PM (guGkK)

Ultimately it will wind up at the Supreme Court, where 437 of the 503 Justices will rule in favor of the original guilty verdicts.

there is a larger point here. There was a time when you could quit a job and there were plenty of semi-skilled work available. Even during recessions there are companies willing to hire a good worker.
But now? We outsourced manufacturing to China, We imported low skill and construction workers from the South. It isn't impossible, but it is much harder. By design. In Victorian England, you could go "into service," ie, go work for a rich family as servant. This is what our anointed class want.

Yes.  The percentage of applicants/trainees with with anger management issues will no doubt increase as people of more normal temperament and ambitions will look elsewhere.  There were already enough bad officers and people infatuated with the new militarized police forces (thank you so much, GWB) that quality was declining.

210 Chauvin will die in custody either at his own hand, the hands of inmates, or, less likely, of old age.  Riots will still break out across America this week because that's what they do.

212 SCOTUS refused to hear three life-time gun ban cases yesterday.  I'm sure there are geeky detailed procedural insider explanations for this, as there are for every other 2A-related case the "court" refuses to hear (i.e. almost all of them).

Oh but the Federalist Society twerps who endzone-danced so much over the very unimpressive Kav and ACB nominations are too busy lamenting the lynching in Mpls to ever notice things like this.

America has an unbelievably vile and stupid internal enemy, and an incredibly sub-mediocre "opposition".

Until it comes to their neighborhoods. Then they will flee to Red areas and vote for the same things that caused them to flee in the first place.
Libs are bellow your average animal in terms of learning from experience.

Remember, Joe's got "neighborhood reform" on the agenda as well. They'll be kicking this gasoline into everybody's neighborhoods.

I think what you would have to do is if there's someone committing a crime and you know you can't do anything about that particular person just start arresting/shooting people you can (white people).

STOP! Or I'll shoot this cracker!

216 Expect an appeal.  The whole trial was a circus from the beginning.  I mean, the prosecution, with less than 24 hours notice, dropped over FIVE THOUSAND pieces of marked evidence, and expected the defense to look through it all.  There was so much prosecutorial misconduct and judicial misconduct in this case.  So I guess promotions all the way around!  Yah!

217 The Left is cleaning America's clock. No one has a clue how to fight them, or the will to try.  Posted by: Homo Viator at April 20, 2021 05:59 PM (C3zFG)

We DO know how to fight them.   But you are correct.  We do not have the will.

More importantly, we do not have the political, judiciary or military backing.

We are, for all intents and purposes, living under the Enabling Act and the Nuremburg Laws.

219 Chauvin will not be killed in jail.
He will be a Faberge egg, gently but firmly passed from one lifer to the next in barter, fought over, miserable but protected, a modern-day Luis Molina without the duplicity, M&M-coating makeup intact, ingenue, changeling, roue, fey but honest, Spider Woman, purchased but never owned...

I was wrapping up a physical therapy session when someone came out of an office and announced the verdict. Thankfully, no one expressed any opinions.
