— Ace ....by Republicans. Their main headline is "Voters Intimidated?" and leads to a story in which Delaware County Democrats claim Republicans are intimidating voters outside polling places. Move down the page a bit and you'll also find the headline, "New Black Panther Party Guarding Fairmount Ave. Polling Place?"
So the Republicans are "intimidating," while the Black Panthers are "guarding." Ah, ok. I wonder if the Republicans had nightsticks too?

— Ace Narrowing margin... a Reagan 1980 shift?
McCain insider -- no "perma-optimist" -- now thinks they'll win.
Leaked Exit Polls... will be as reliable as these, from the past. A consistent +6 to +10 overstatement of Dem support.

— Jack M. This is going to be a personal observation of my voting experiences from Friday. If y'all would like to talk about anecdotes from what you are seeing today, feel free to do so in the comments.
I post it for one reason: to remind everyone that there is no such thing as the "youth vote."
It never materializes. Ever. It is the least reliable of all demographics. And, as James Carville once said, there is a name for campaigns that depend on the youth vote to succeed: "losers."
On Friday I was in my home state for the Halloween weekend. It so happens that it is one of the big battleground states this year. So I took advantage of the early voting period. I also was able to follow up on an idea a friend sent me and helped transport some members of the local VFW to the polls. It was a great day, and I met a lot of true patriots.
But here is what I noticed the most: in a line that took 3 hours (!!!) to get from start to finish, I saw a grand total of 2 individuals who were representative of the "youth vote."
Why is this important? It's not. It's an anecdote. However, I did see hundreds of people in line. I saw senior citizens. I saw veterans. I saw married men and women. I saw people with their children. I saw African-Americans. I saw Hispanics. I saw Asians. I saw Whites. I was in line behind a blue collar democrat (a guy who fixes air conditioners) who was voting for McCain. I saw upscale professionals. I saw handicapped people. I saw PUMA's wearing Hillary pins and talking loudly about how much they hated Obama.
I saw large numbers of every demographic you could think of naming. (I was the representative of the "guy who places too much significance on the random allotment of people he sees in a crowd" demographic.)
But the "yutes"? Nowhere to be found.
Which struck me as interesting. Because this early voting center is smack dab between 3 community colleges. It's the assigned precinct for folks who go to those schools or who live/commute to school in/from this general area of the county.
What made this even more fun to observe, was that of the 2 college aged kids I saw, one left to "come back when the line was shorter". The other, wearing the trendy Obama-Iconography t-shirt (sub-headed "I voted for THAT ONE") stuck around.
Now maybe they showed up on other days. Maybe they plan to show up and hold a facebook flash mob today. I tend to doubt it though.
But anecdotes are fun. And they help keep morale up. So share yours with me.
But only after you vote. Because every vote one of us "non-youths" cast cancels out or gains us a plus up for a dirty stinking snowboarding hippy stoner who didn't.
That's right. I'm looking at you Colorado.
Vote.

— LauraW BUMPED because the picture is so awesome, just in case some of you might actually not vote. Look at the defiant looks on those women, and sack up.
****************
Even in non-battleground states, or deep blue states. I live in a seemingly hopeless blue state. Since I started talking to people more specifically about this race, I'm very gratified at how many McCain voters there are around here.
By and large they know far, far more about Barry's associations than the MSM ever let slip. The man on the street is likely more informed about his choices in this race than he has been for several elections past.
I know I'm preaching to the choir, but just in case there's somebody contemplating skipping this one, please exercise your privilege to vote and go to the polls today. I don't care if you think you're the only conservative in your county. Get out there.

These women literally risked their lives to vote.
You gonna let some raindrops/ thugs/ eeyorism get you down?

— Slublog You know, if The One really does have this election in the bag, why are his minions trying so hard to steal it? A comment from the swing state of Virginia, from Blazer:
Well folks, this election is being stolen right here in Va. as we speak...Confident campaigns and political parties do not engage in such behavior. If you see voter fraud, irregularity or other suspicious activity, the McCain campaign has set up a special number to call.Nope. I saw folks being registered to vote right on the spot and allowed to go through the line. At one table, they weren't even checking names and I.D.'s, a near riot almost ensued inside. A friend of mine across town at another precinct witnessed this also.
Update - Republican election board members tossed out of Philly voting stations:
GOP Election Board members have been tossed out of polling stations in at least half a dozen polling stations in Philadelphia because of their party status.A Pennsylvania judge previously ruled that court-appointed poll watchers could be NOT removed from their boards by an on-site election judge, but that is exactly what is happening.
It is the duty of election board workers to monitor and guard the integrity of the voting process.
Denying access to the minority (in this case Republican) poll watchers and inspectors is a violation of Pennsylvania state law. Those who violate the law can be punished with a misdemeanor and subjected to a fine of $1,000 and sent to prison between one month and two years.
