— DrewM It's one poll and it's early so add a pinch of salt to your schadenfreude but enjoy it none the less.
First, the Washington Post buries it's own lead (naturally) but Jim Geraghty found the real story...Obama's approval rating with adults (not registered voters) is 47-49 approve/disapprove.
Second, only 25% of the sample identified as Republican? Um, ok.
As for Obama vs. the GOP, at this point Mitt is in the lead.
Among all Americans, Obama and Romney are knotted at 47 percent each, and among registered voters, the former governor is numerically ahead, 49 percent to 46 percent.Overall, about six in 10 of those surveyed give Obama negative marks on the economy and the deficit. Significantly, nearly half strongly disapprove of his performance in these two crucial areas. Nearly two-thirds of political independents disapprove of the president’s handling of the economy, including — for the first time — a slim majority who do so strongly.
In another indicator of rapidly shifting views on economic issues, 45 percent trust congressional Republicans over the president when it comes to dealing with the economy, an 11-point improvement for the GOP since March. Still, nearly as many, 42 percent, side with Obama on this issue.
So, President Wonderful isn't immune to a crappy economy, high unemployment, soaring gas prices and all the rest of the traditional issues on which Presidents are judged after all.
One poll isn't enough to get me to change my mind about Romney and get on board Team Mitt but it does show that Obama is vulnerable.
Gingrich and Huntsman trail Obama by 10, Pawlentyby 11 and Bachmann 13.
As for "She who will launch 200 angry comments pro or con"....Palin trails Obama by 17 in this poll. Palin and Romney are probably the two best known names polled. Unlike Romney, that doesn't work out well for her.
Almost two-thirds of all Americans say they “definitely would not” vote for Palin for president. She is predictably unpopular with Democrats and most independents, but the new survey underscores the hurdles she would face if she became a candidate: 42 percent of Republicans say they’ve ruled out supporting her candidacy.More than six in 10 Americans say they do not consider Palin qualified to serve as president. That is a slightly better rating for the former governor than through most of last year, but is another indication of widespread public doubts about a possible presidential run.
I don't care who you are, that kind of hole is tough to dig out of.
(Sorry, not sure why the double post. I guess we were hacked or the victim of a prank. Please respect my privacy on this matter.)

— andy Seems the Obama administration just can't keep anyone on its economics team for very long. Imagine that.
Less than a year after he was named chairman of the White House Council of Economic Advisers, Goolsbee plans to return to his teaching job at the University of Chicago, the Obama administration said in a statement. He will be back in Chicago in time for the start of the next school year.Goolsbee said he looks forward to returning to the classroom environment, where Keynesian economics always works like the models predict.
I may have made that last part up.

— Maetenloch Just got back from the airport so this ONT will be a work in progress...
But first let us rejoice with some "Yub Nub", the Ewok song of victory.
No matter where you fall in the longrunning crossbow-longbow feud, it's never wrong to have both. So here BudK Sports is offering a crossbow and crossbow accessories for just $19.
When hobos are hunted regularly, they grow wary. And that's when Mr. Crossy comes in. This bow is perfect for the moron on the move - it's powerful enough to be lethal, but small enough to be concealable. And easy to discard if the heat is on.

— Ace So funny. Hurry and read.
I got a screenshot I'll put up later.
Must Watch: Allah posted this vid on Twitter. It's of Weiner lying in an interview several days ago.
It's not just that he lies, but that he lies arrogantly and condescendingly, lecturing and hectoring the interviewer, who does Weiner a bad turn by acting shy and affable as Weiner attempts this crap.
And what is even worse is his constant insistence that the interviewer may not -- may not -- ask Weiner why he was following underage girls because to lay such a question at Weiner's feet is to impugn the honor of these poor little girls, an affront Weiner shall not stand for.
Now, you watch this guy lie like this, monstrously, that shitty grin on his face, and you tell me "He came clean today."
Now usually people complain that they got hacked in editing, just soundbites and "bad moments" extracted from a conversation. In this one, any soundbites, no matter how bad, are better than seeing this whole thing.
Sorry, link fixed.

— DrewM 8pm Eastern on Versus.
Boston is down 2-0 in what's been a close series so far.
Two ways of looking at it...
1- Bruins have shown they can hang with the best team in the league in their own building. Coming home to Boston should help them get over the hump.
2- Bruins have thrown everything they have at the Canucks and it hasn't been good enough.
Tonight we find out if we have a series or just marking time until an inevitable Canucks championship.

BREAKING: Chris Matthews Says Something Stupid
— Ace Meet Ms. Broussard, who came forward with her pics and chatlogs from her communications with Weiner.
She says he was annoying as he was always on about himself, and also that he bragged of sex with celebrities. Himself? I don't know.
Bryan Preston thinks he's already found a lie that's easily proven. Weiner claimed he used no Congressional resources in his trim-trolling endeavors; but his office is a resource, isn't it?
And I don't think that's going to turn out to be the lie we remember, either.
Below, some vids. In 10 minutes, ABCNews' tv report (I think, I assume).
And that's it for me. I woke up at 5:45 which, I gotta tell ya, has lately been a time at which I go to sleep, to cover this arrogant ass' pecker, and I'm really tired of his dick.
Oh, at first, I thought it was spry and puckish. Even charming. But as the hours have ground on, I've just gotten to the point where I'm about to say "I shall scream if I get another face-full of man-root." And I haven't said that since junior high track.
I will do that Hot Air "social unrest" thing, but just as a link.
Oh, and Nancy Pelosi calls for an investigation, or, as it should probably be termed, "an investigation."
Chris Matthews: Hey, Maybe The Wife Is Partly Responsible: Nunace.
And I Mean It This Time: This starts to get into a pure media investigation, so the blog returns to its regular, non-dick format tomorrow.
My Theory Is Glorious. The Facts Are Sloppy. Cannonfire, genius lefty who came up with Yfrog hack scheme, admits... admits total vindication, actually.

— CAC The naïve answer: No way! They love him there!
He has carried this district by margins of 2-1 or better in every election except 2010- a high water mark for Republicans where he still beat GOP candidate Robert Turner by a 61-39 margin.

— Ace I'd say that was a first for a press conference, wouldn't you? Audio here; I'm told that was a member of Howard Stern's Wack Pack.
So, in "coming clean," he lied a whole bunch of times, and continued to evade.
IT CONTINUES.
ABCNews Reveals the Latest Woman, Or Is She Even The Latest? One of May's two models (that we know about).
Breitbart #Hacks! press conference.
Chris Matthews: "He finally told the truth." He did? We're just accepting that? Again?
We're just believing him again, huh?
Let's See... All of the girls were "over 21" except for the Comely Coed?
And that was a... joke?
He sent her the same pic as a joke that he sends for cybersex?
That's odd.
I would have sent the cat pic, myself. Not the erection pic. But that's just me.
Goldberg's Reaction: Eh, giving a little too much benefit of the doubt.
Watching the press conference was extremely uncomfortable at the outset. He’s clearly humiliated and apologetic to his wife. I think his critics should acknowledge that much (though judging from the Twitter reactions, many do not).It was also good for him to apologize to Andrew Breitbart and “anyone else he misled.”
But thatÂ’s not what he did wrong to Andrew Breitbart and others. He encouraged people to make Breitbart et al into the villains in this story. The sin there is not misleading but a kind of bearing false witness, a variant of slander.
The tide turned against him when he was asked whether he knew if all the recipients of his communications were of legal age. I suspect that tide will not recede imminently.
When anyone gets caught and is faced with the stern glare of group disapproval, he cries. It's a natural human reaction. It might even be hardwired as some kind of submission/mercy reflex signal.
That doesn't mean he's sorry. It means he's sorry he got caught and has to go through this ordeal.
And the fact is, I can't say in that situation I'd be crying more for the people I'd hurt than myself. I strongly suspect I'd be mostly crying for myself. Not proud of that, but I make a point of being honest, except when it's in my tangible interest to not be.
So I don't rush to buy this "he's sorry" crap. Why? Because he squirted a few?
As for the girl's ages-- Good Lord, if the media goes to sleep on this one...
Headline: Weiner Didn't Communicate With Underage Girls... To the Best of His Knowledge. Well, that's just wonderful.
Color me relieved.

Sit down, sit down. Look at these pictures.
What's this a picture of?
Do you know how old the girl was you sent this to?
"To the best of your knowledge" she was over 21?
To the best of your knowledge?
Yes, you can go now.
But I have to warn you, there may be other men,
men outside, who have more questions for you.

BREITBART HACKS PRESS CONFERENCE
Pic Sent To Comely Coed Was A... Joke
— Ace Update: Breitbart was at Weiner's press conference. Press began asking him questions so he took the dias and answered them. I think it was mostly about not being the hacker, because there was no hacker.
...
My God, Weiner's going for sex rehab.
Okay, the doubts that all this cruelty was necessary? Yeah. Gone.
Use this as a press conference thread, too. I'll put up a vid link when I find one.
Live Feed: here.
I'm Calling My Shot: If he says any variation of "Let me put my certitude up your skirtitude," you all must pay me $100, but first, you will **** me.<
Quotes: Looks nervous.
"I have made terrible mistakes...
"I have not been honest with myself..."
This means sex rehab.
Claims it was sent as a joke. Right.
Claims he's had "inappropriate conversations" with six women in three years.
Dude, you had two this past May alone.
"I love my wife very much... we have no intention of splitting..."
"To the best of my knowledge they were all over 21?"
Ahem. Wasn't the Comely Coed in college? And not "over 21"? And he sent her a dic-pic, the same as he does in cybersex scenarios, but this time he meant it as a joke?
