— Ace 52-45, bitchez.
I did make the prediction that Romney's lead would expand by 1-2 points, post debate. The debate was not a victory for Obama. It was a confirmation of Romney's acceptability, plausibility, and fitness for office.
Romney now has a one-point (MoE, of course) lead even among registered voters, 48-47. Down a tick (meaninglessly) from yesterday's 49-47.
Binders
They can do anything. As long as it involves holding resumes, and not moving votes.
Sweet: Romney moves ahead on RCP's electoral map for what people are saying is the first time.
And it doesn't even look like they've given FL or VA to Romney yet, even as Lean Romney.

— Ace It's not Chris Matthews, but the Outrage Assembly Line is manufacturing a shiny new outrage.
T'Neshi Coates, or whatever the hell his name is (I don't bother with spelling for nonentities; I only learn names when I figure I'll be using them often), finds a slavemaster mindset behind Tagg Romney's joke that he felt like taking a swing at Obama.
Yes because a good whippin' would teach that Obama boy to mind his place. It's worth trying to imagine any black man associated with a credible black candidate for the presidency, joking about beating down the incumbent president of the United States. Racism isn't just in what you do and don't say, but in the terrain you walk. It is baked in the cake -- a fact which is hard to understand when you are the party of white people.
Yes, and the party of black people and the party of women can't speak honestly to them, and never suggests "Gee, that's rather stupid" when they vomit up nonsense like this or about "binders." Thus creating a condescending culture wherein stupidity is hyper-incentivized.
And in fact there is an example of a black person associated with Obama making a similar statement about a former President.
In Wisconsin, I asked [Michelle Obama] if she was offended by Bill Clinton’s use of the phrase ‘fairytale’ to describe her husband’s characterisation of his position on the Iraq war. At first, Obama responded with a curt ‘No’. But, after a few seconds, she affected a funny voice. ‘I want to rip his eyes out!’ she said, clawing at the air with her fingernails. One of her advisers gave her a nervous look. ‘Kidding!’ Obama said. ‘See, this is what gets me into trouble.’
And I can't believe we're either sidetracked on to these heaving, lurching stupidities with 19 days to go to the most consequential and issue-intensive election of our lifetimes.
But it's what the dummies want. They can't run on results so they're running on jumped-up outrage.
Oh: @benk84 linked this, but it's so preposterous, it deserves a second link: Michelle Obama claims her husband never blamed Bush, he just rolled up his sleeves and went to work.

— Ace Rowan Atkinson asks where this madness will end.
Mr Atkinson said: "The clear problem of the outlawing of insult is that too many things can be interpreted as such. Criticism, ridicule, sarcasm, merely stating an alternative point of view to the orthodoxy, can be interpreted as insult."...
Mr Atkinson said he hoped the repeal of Section 5 would pave the way for a move to "rewind the culture of censoriousness" and take on the "outrage industry - self-appointed arbiters of the public good encouraging outrage to which the police feel under terrible pressure to react".
Speaking at the Westminster launch of the campaign, he added: "The law should not be aiding and abetting the new intolerance."
A Christian preacher was also arrested, but the article doesn't mention the details of his SpeechCrime.
Arrayed against this law -- which is, literally, totalitarian -- is a group called "The Christian Institute" and something we need over in the states -- "Big Brother Watch."

— DrewM Introduction (from his website):
While growing up, Rodney worked in his parentsÂ’ restaurant, so heÂ’s seen first-hand the daily challenges faced by small business owners. In his role as Projects Director for Congressman John Shimkus, Rodney became intimately familiar with the role that the federal government plays in our communities, where it can help, and where it can hurt. He was instrumental in helping Illinois citizens and communities cut through government red tape and works daily to provide support and relief to a wide array of important local projects.
Despite his busy schedule, Rodney has always put family first. In 1995, he married Shannon, his high school sweetheart. At age 26, soon after the birth of their daughter, Toryn, Shannon was diagnosed with cancer. Drawing on their faith and family for support, Rodney and Shannon faced the devastating diagnosis head-on and prevailed. Throughout her treatment, Rodney never missed one of ShannonÂ’s sessions. Almost two years after ShannonÂ’s initial diagnosis, they celebrated the birth of their twin sons Griffin and Clark. Today, Shannon is a 13-year survivor. She is a registered nurse and an instructor at St. JohnÂ’s College of Nursing in Springfield, where she helps educate IllinoisÂ’ next generation of caregivers.
The District:
The new IL-13 is mostly made up of the previous IL-15. Right now itÂ’s a Republican held seat but the incumbent is retiring. It leans GOP but went for home state Barack Obama in 2008.
Opponent:
David Gill is a physician running for office for the first time.
It doesnÂ’t seem as if heÂ’s any more or less objectionable than your average Democrat but any new vote for Pelosi or Obama is bad enough.
The Race:
As with most House races thereÂ’s not a lot of polling. We Ask America had Davis up 2 points about a week ago and thatÂ’s essentially a dead heat.
Real Clear Politics has the race as a toss up.
The best news seems to be the pull out of ad money by the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee. The GOP is still spending on the race.
If youÂ’re in the area and can volunteer or want to donate, visit the campaignÂ’s website.

Bleg: 20 days left. 20! Can you think back to how you felt in January of 2009? Do you remember that feeling of anguish? How about the last four years? What are you doing to ensure that doesn't happen this time around? Have you donated money to Romney's campaign? Have you volunteered?
I'm taking off election day and volunteering for Romney's election day team. I used link in the top right of the sidebar. They contacted me the same day I filled out the form. If you can't take the day off, they can still use volunteers for the afternoon/evening. If you're not in a swing state then you can donate money to help Romney run ads in contested states or you can make phone calls to other states at Mitt Romney's Website.

— Ace I'm not going to link the lefty gals who are pushing this, but there's audio of Tagg Romney saying he wanted to take a swing at Obama for calling his dad a liar.
I don't even want to post this, you understand? But they're apparently serious about trying to push this as the Outrage of the Day.
I just want you to know what Chris Matthews is talking about when he says "Yeah, 170 years ago Privileged White Men used to strike black men who gave them 'sass'"...
Oh My God. We're at this level now.
They're pushing to make this A Thing.
And I Don't Even Want To Dignify This... But remember the "Kill Romney" strategy?
Barack Obama's 2012 plan: 'Kill Romney'
They're going Full Retard.

— Ace I don't think it's really Trump, by the way.
But it might be. Clarification: This is his account. I mean, I don't know if he's really Tweeting this stuff, or he has some goofball doing it for him. Like, dictating his tweets as he plays Carpet Golf and smokes a cigar.
Anyway, tweet of the night:
@realDonaldTrump Robert Pattinson should not take back Kristen Stewart. She cheated on him like a dog & will do it again--just watch. He can do much better!
His feed is about 75% politics (our side), 15% advertisements for his new cologne (Success, by Donald Trump) and All Star Celebrity Apprentice, and 10% Team Edward.
FYI, I agree with him, but then I suspect they're just pretending to be back together for the Twilight movies.
I can't believe I actually have an opinion on this. Turns out, I do.
I feel bad about that, but I have to confront reality as it presents itself to me. I have an opinion on the Edward/Bella contretemps.
